It's Good to be Able to Share...

Finally landed here. Old and new friends are all welcome. I'm still finding the way in this new found land, so do tolerate my inadequacies.

What can one ask for more if one finds someone who doesn't mind sharing the smell of one's shoes and seeing the holes of the old socks, especially after half a life's walk?

It is my privilege to have you visiting me. Leave your marks here if you don't mind...

  15. Hi Gravel,
Please do me a favor and check something for me. When we click on your icon picture, we are not being directed to your homepage, instead it's a page where no matter how we tried, we couldn't get to your homepage. You may click on the picture icon above, I mean, where you posted a reply, you'll know what I mean.
Anyway, could you please go to Design>>Settings>>Basic to see if you have your direct blog URL there, that is, http://dustinthewhirlwind.blogspot.hk/

    Thank you.

  16. I envy you that you can master this blog so well. I am still struggling in the exploring stage. By the way, do you receive e-mail alerts when you receive comments from your blog friends? Have a nice weekend.

    1. Hi C'est la vie,

I just learned that you can a few moments ago.
If you open you blog, click "設計" on right top corner, then "設定" on the left and then "行動製置及電子郵件". You can add the email account to receive the alerts.
      Make sure you click "儲存設定".

You too have a nice weekend.

    1. Hi Crystal,
I did have the blog link in the "Blog Address" field. But, this is the handicap of BlogSpot - apparently you can't be connected to the homepage of other bloggers by clicking on their icon just like we do at Yahoo's. Instead, if you click my name "Gravel Yau" by the icon in my posted reply, you can go to my google+ page (I don't why and what it can do for me!). Then, if you click "關於" from the selections on the top, you will find my address.
Else, you can click my icon under the "加入這個網站" on the right column of this page, you can click my name or the address and you will be directed to my homepage. Some bloggers do not let their address go public and thus you can't get into their blog using these methods. You can this tool to your blog so that others can join the blog as well.
Tell you want - I just do it the old way - save all my blogmates' homepage as "My Favorites" and select them from the list.
Oh, welcome again and keep learning and possibly struggling like me for the time being.
      Have a great weekend.

    2. Thank you for the info. I'll see what I'll do, I'm not much into going too "public", if you know what I mean.

    3. That's OK with me because I have your blog address saved under "My Favorites", so your blog is just one click away! This may be the easiest and safest way for me.
      Good night from here.

    1. It's very kind of you to ask after me. I'm OK and so is my dad. Just being tied down at work since the departure of two colleagues 2 months ago. Taking a day off today to attend a conference on good dying and end-of-life. May not be your cup of tea but actually quite stimulating for me.
Thanks again and continue to enjoy the week.

    1. Hi Key,
      多謝問候。其本的用法也勉強可以了,祇是工作忙了一點,而且若不玩google+這裡沒有Yahoo那麼方便,所以較少出沒,稍後再拜訪你。祝一週順利。

  25. Would you write something about the conference on good dying and end-of-life? Maybe a taboo subject but an issue worth facing squarely.
Hope you are not too worn out by work. Take care.

    1. Hi Peter,
Thanks for following the dialogues. The conference had a rather interesting topic and I enjoyed it. Somehow, it was a showcase of a few old age homes and the hospital EXPERTS in preparing old and frail people for their last farewell on this earth. It was about advance directives and how it was able to get around the inadequacy in our current legal system here and the inability of most people to talk about it.
Talking about death and dying is strangely my preoccupation since school time and I think the conversation on this matter is overdue considering the ageing of this community. Of course there MAY be a long distance before that last farewell comes and it is ourselves who are going to make that journey a good process. I must say you are doing it superbly wonderful, rich and inspiring after reading your latest blog. Mine is quite pathetic though. Sorry if I offend you because as you said it is still a taboo subject.
